The Ink Stand itself has such a wonderful elegant classic look with a smooth finish to the rectangle shape standish, this then has a square central solid silver frame with raised sides , this is to allow the wonderful square cut glass ink well with silver collar and lid (hinge broken ) to sit snugly within, the edges of the ink stand have also the most beautiful embossed gadroon decoration with beautiful scroll designs to each corner, all this then sit upon four very elegant claw and ball feet.
