A splendid quality rare solid silver pocket snuff box it is hallmarked with the makers mark being Robert Chandler Birmingham England 1907
This rare desirable Edwardian solid silver pocket snuff box is curved in design and is decorated with the most amazing detail all around the box, the hinged cover and base has a beautiful bright cut engraved scroll decoration which has been hand engraved very finely, resulting in an intricate and aesthetically pleasing stunning design.
The decoration is in excellent, crisp, condition.
The Cartouche in the centre of the lid has not been monogrammed.
The hinge and closure of the lid is functioning perfectly
The box has a fully gilt interior that pleasantly contrast the brilliant silver tone on the exterior in addition to providing a layer of protection from the silver reacting with the contents inside the box.
The snuff box is fully hallmarked with clear markings.
The quality of the craftsmanship is superb which is to be expected from a Robert Chandler piece, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy family member, this was many many years ago when times were so very different, if this snuff box could talk I can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this snuff box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This rare snuff box will add something very special to any collection
