We are pleased to be able to offer these exemplary pieces of fine 18th Century Silverware: Solid Silver open salts.
This is an Extremely Rare fine quality Pair George II , 18th century Solid Silver Open Couldron Salts, crafted i believe by the world renowned 18th Century London Silversmiths David Henell they were Assayed in London in 1750 making them 269 years old, each open salt has been crafted beautifully which breath taking embossed flowers, foliage and scrolls in abundance, they each sit upon three hoof shaped feet with the most ornate embossed collars to the top of the legs, to the inside they still retain their rich gilt finish, they are so very rare and so extremely special, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb , these would have once belonged to a wealthy family in the 18th century and once sat pride of place on the dining table at many of a fine dinner party they would have thrown, imagine how beautiful they would have looked glistening and sparkling against the light of candles, this was many years ago when things were so very different, if these salts could talk imagine what fascinating stories they could tell, they are so very tactile and once held have the most wonderful feel, they are so beautiful, fully hallmarked.
An unquestionably exquisite and fine addition for any uncompromising collector or as a display piece.
