This is a Beautiful Fine Quality Victorian French Hand crafted Ladies Sewing Etui Case, I would estimate this wonderful sewing case dates to circa 1870 making it 150 years old, this wonderful Victorian Sewing Etui has no sewing implement inside but is so very elegant, the outside of this wonderful French Sewing Etui Case has been crafted beautifully, the body has a chamfered corners, to the centre it has a black enamel initial B as the cartouch, the sides have a lovely curved shape giving a stunning look. To open you press the button on the end and once open you will see it still retains its original interior which is is wonderful condition, to the inside base it has a lovely cream interior with all the place's to put your sewing implements securely inside, it has compartments for scissors, a thimble, a needle case, a bodkin and a darning needle, the top has the most beautiful cream finish, when closing it makes a lovely sounding snap shut, the Quality of the craftsmanship is superb. this would have once belonged to a wealthy Victorian lady and been used daily, this was many years ago when things were so very different, it has a timeless elegance

The condition of the etui is good considering its over 150  years of age with some hairline cracks and a couple of chips (please see photos) which is age related wear but does not detract from its elegance mentioned for accuracy.
